
The Luxembourg men's curling club had its first taste of success yesterday with a win against Iceland at the European Curling Championship C Division in Switzerland.
After a very tight start at the Palladium de Champéry, with 2-2 after 4 ends, Luxembourg achieved a very good overall performance in the sixth end with a 6-3 lead.
Skip Marc Hansen brought a superb four points for his team and after the 7th end the Icelandic team knew their fate and Luxembourg grasped victory with 7-3.
Marc Hansen, Kyle Edwards, Ian Munn and Alex Benoy will be competing in two games today, against Slovenia at 08:00 and against Serbia at 20:00.
19 teams from 12 countries are currently competing in Switzerland for the four places at the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships 2015 taking place next month in Esbjerg, Denmark. Luxembourg is represented by the men's team and will be vying for one of the two men's spots available in the B-Division.
