On Thursday 17 September 2026, the organisers of Luxembourg Art Week unveiled the first details of the programme for the event’s twelfth edition, which will take place from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November 2026 at its temporary venue on Glacis Square in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.
This year’s edition will introduce a new Contemporary Art Prize recognising an artwork presented at the fair, with a focus on artistic practices from the Greater Region and the Benelux.
An independent jury will select the winning work from a shortlist of entries. Following the fair, the selected work will enter the Société Générale Luxembourg Art Collection. The award ceremony will take place during the preview on Thursday 19 November 2026, while the participating works will be identified on exhibitors’ stands throughout the fair.
According to the organisers, the programme will begin ahead of the fair with the launch of Art Walk on Wednesday 14 October 2026. Developed in collaboration with artcontemporain.lu and with the support of the City of Luxembourg (VdL), the initiative will bring artworks and temporary installations to public spaces across the capital.
Art Walk will comprise an open-air sculpture trail, as well as a series of “capsules” occupying vacant shop windows. Accessible free of charge both day and night, the route will connect the fair’s temporary venue on Glacis Square with various locations across Luxembourg City. A dedicated map will be distributed at more than 80 locations in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.
The 2026 edition will also see the return of Collecting 101, an initiative introduced in 2025 to make buying art more accessible to new collectors. Selected works priced below €4,000 will be identified by dedicated signage throughout the fair.
Free general and themed guided tours will be available on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, including tours dedicated to this year’s Focus Photo programme. Private guided tours for groups of up to twelve people will also be available at an additional cost.
The complete programme is expected to be unveiled at a press conference on Wednesday 14 October 2026.
