The New World Theatre Club (NWTC) has announced details of a number of upcoming events, including filmed plays, a play reading and events linked to the Luxembourg European Annual Theatre Summer School (LEATSS).

Filmed Theatre

NWTC is organising a screening via Zoom of two filmed theatre productions on Tuesday 8 June 2021 at 19:30.

NWTC submitted its entry "All Dressed Up" in the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies (FEATS) Virtual Fringe Festival 2021, which was organised by ECC Brussels. The entry will be shown at this event, as well as another piece by Nadia Masri. Following the two screenings, there will be a panel of professionals who will discuss the different approaches to the visual medium. The panellists are: Nadia Masri (filmmaker), Gina Bonmariage (former Dean of the AFDA film and theatre school in Cape Town and Daniel Bonmariage (cameraman for RTL, who has filmed many shows).  Running time: approximately one hour for the videos plus one hour for the panel discussion. Play reading - A Chorus of Disapproval by Alan Ayckbourn (Act 2)

NWTC is organising a play reading of "A Chorus of Disapproval" by Alan Ayckbourn (Act 2) on Tuesday 15 June 2021 at 20:00. Those wishing to take part should register via email: valerie@nwtc.lu by 10:00 on Tuesday 15 June 2021. Participants will receive two links during the day itself: one to join the Zoom meeting and the other to access an electronic copy of the script.  

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

NWTC will hold its AGM on Monday 21 June 2021 at 19:30 via Zoom. A separate email will be sent to all NWTC members with the link to join the AGM and to access the relevant documents. Members who plan to attend are asked to inform the committee via email: committee@nwtc.lu. Members who cannot attend are asked to send in a proxy form (details will be included in the separate email).

LEATSS - The Copenhagen Experience

Theatre workshops will be held face-to-face in Copenhagen (Denmark) as part of "The Copenhagen Experience" (CopE), from Monday 12 July to Saturday 17 July 2021. All restrictions relating to COVID-19 will be strictly adhered to. There will be six morning classes (Monday to Saturday) on Acting Technique and Character Development. There will be additional sessions on Acting, Sign Language Interpretation and Comedy Improvisation. Leatss On Line (LOL)

Leatss On Line 2021 (LOL21) is taking place from Saturday 24 July to Sunday 1 August 2021.
