Luxembourg-based New World Theatre Club (NWTC) has announced that it is holding auditions for its upcoming play "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest" on Saturday 19 September 2020 from 14:00 to 17:00; the exact location is to be confirmed but will be within Luxembourg City.

The NWTC has launched an audition call for its adaptation of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest", a play which first premiered on Broadway in November 1963 and is based upon the novel of the same name published in 1962. It was subsequently made into an Oscar-winning film in 1975.

There are seventeen roles to fill with parts ranging from large to medium to small. These include eight male patients, four male and two female staff members and two other females (Candy Starr and Sandra).

All auditionees will need to be present at 14:00 and will be required for up to three hours.  As the play depends strongly on ensemble work, the auditions will take the form of a workshop involving all auditionees and for which no preparation need be done beforehand and no “audition pieces” will be required.  Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothes and trainers or soft shoes.

The play will be performed at the Mierscher Kulturhaus in Mersch on Thursday 4, Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 March 2021. The rehearsal period will start from mid-October with two to three weekly rehearsals and running throughout to performance with some time off for Christmas and the New Year.
