Pirates Productions are putting on a new retro jazz musical from the directors of The Jazz Club, Nataša Vlaović and Julien Farlin, from 16 - 21 November 2016 at the Gasperich Parish Hall (35 rue de Gasperich, L-1617 Luxembourg-Gasperich); the evening will be staged in cabaret style with dinner served during the interval; drinks will be available at the bar.

The script will, once again, be devised through improvisation and the score will draw from classic Jazz, Funk and soul numbers from that period. The characters are the residents and staff of the hotel as well as frequent visitors to the lobby, kitchen and bar.

Story? Somewhere in Manhattan in the 1970s, the “Harlem Hotel” welcomes all: a jazz musician looking for a few hours' sleep after a long jam night, a student of German literature, a post woman and a bus driver, a busker who once met Louis Armstrong, and a yoga practitioner. One morning, a young couple enters the lobby, all ready for love. After an incident separates them, they will explore the hotel and meet its tenants. And learn a thing or two about themselves...

Performances are on Wed 16, Thu 17, Fri 18, Sat 19 November at 19:30 (optional dinner during the interval), plus Sat 19 at 15:30 & Sun 20 November at 14:30 (without meal, cakes available at the bar)

Tickets: €15, students €12.50, dinner €15. Reservations - see www.pirates.lu,  email: tickets@pirates.lu, tel: 356339.
