On Wednesday 26 July 2023, Luxembourg's Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development, together with the Agency for the Development of Employment (ADEM) announced the renewal of their collaboration in the recruitment of seasonal workers for work in the vineyards and for the 2023 harvest along the Luxembourg Route du Vin by the Moselle river.

In the Luxembourg Moselle region, the grapes used for the production of Crémant de Luxembourg and high-end wines have to be harvested manually. Manual harvesting contributes to guaranteeing the high quality of Luxembourg wines and crémants.

ADEM and the Luxembourg Wine Institute (IVV) have therefore set up a recruitment service for seasonal pickers for wine companies looking for candidates. The IVV is looking for seasonal workers, while the ADEM will contact and pre-select motivated candidates.

In this context, ADEM and the IVV are organising a job day within the IVV this Friday 28 July 2023, allowing winegrowers to meet the preselected candidates, to exchange during speed-dating type sessions and to recruit a reserve of pickers. Throughout the summer, ADEM will continue to offer candidates to wineries looking for seasonal labour to fill peak workloads.
