On Monday 16 February 2026, Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, met his Canadian counterpart, François‑Philippe Champagne, to sign a letter of intent establishing a structured and reinforced dialogue on financial sector policies.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Luxembourg and Canada in the financial field.
Luxembourg’s Ministry of Finance stated that the letter of intent seeks to deepen and consolidate cooperation in the future between the Luxembourg and Canadian financial sectors.
The structured dialogue follows up on the conclusions of the bilateral meeting held last week between Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
