On Wednesday 24 December 2025, the Grand Ducal Police in Luxembourg reported that Bilal Haidach, one of Europe's most wanted fugitives, had been arrested in Spain.
Bilal Haidach had been on the list of Europe's most wanted fugitives since mid-November 2025 in relation to a 2023 burglary in Luxembourg. He was actively sought by the Fugitive Search unit (FAST) of Luxembourg's Criminal Investigation Department (SPJ), which is a member of the European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams (ENFAST).
During the burglary in the early hours of 19 September 2023, the victim was awakened by noise made by the perpetrator, later identified as Bilal Haidach. He entered the room with the homeowner present, jumped onto the bed and assaulted the victim by pressing against their face. The victim, who suffered from asthma, began to have difficulty breathing, prompting the assailant to flee the scene.
On Wednesday 17 December 2025, Spanish police located and arrested Bilal Haidach in Madrid, where he is currently in custody.
