The Chamber of Deputies (Luxembourg's parliament) has reported that a parliamentary delegation led by Chamber President Claude Wiseler will pay an official visit to Portugal and Cape Verde from Monday 16 to Friday 20 September 2024.

In Portugal, from 16 to 17 September, the Luxembourg MPs will notably have exchanges of views with the President of the Assembly of the Republic (Portuguese parliament), José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, and the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. The MPs will also meet Portugal's Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel, and the Secretary of State for the Portuguese Communities, José Cesario.

In Cape Verde, from 17 to 20 September, a meeting is planned with the President of the National Assembly, Austelino Tavares Correia, Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva and President José Maria Neves. The programme also includes visits to several flagship projects of Luxembourg's development cooperation, including the Centre for Renewable Energy and Industrial Maintenance (CERMI), the Hotel and Tourism School of Cabo Verde (EHTCV) and the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training of Santa Catarina.

The Luxembourg parliamentary delegation will be composed of the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Claude Wiseler, Vice-Presidents Fernand Etgen and Mars Di Bartolomeo, the President of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs Gusty Graas and MP Meris Sehovic, substitute member of the Bureau (only for the official visit to Portugal).
