On Monday 4 Monday March 2024, Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden visited his Dutch counterpart, Prime Minister Mark Rutte, for a working visit to The Hague.
The two heads of government agreed on enhanced cooperation on various subjects, particularly in the field of renewable energies, including hydrogen, as well as current European issues such as defence, agriculture and competitiveness.
They also discussed pressing international issues such as the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. The visit allowed the heads of government to agree on holding a trade mission within twelve months.
Subsequently, the Luxembourg Prime Minister continued his visit to the “Instituut Clingendael” in the Netherlands, an internationally renowned think tank, where he discussed the European agenda for the next five years with researchers from the institute.
The visit concluded with a discussion with Luxembourg students studying in the Netherlands at the embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in The Hague.
