EDF, the operator of the Cattenom nuclear power plant in France, has reported that Reactor 3 was reconnected to the electricity network on Wednesday 22 November 2023.
During the night of Wednesday 22 to Thursday 23 November 2023, the teams at the power plant reconnected Reactor 3 to the electrical grid and confirmed it is in operation again and supplying the electricity network.
Reactor 3 had been shut down as scheduled on 7 October 2023, allowing teams to carry out nearly 5,000 maintenance and inspection activities.
EDF confirmed that the four production units of the plant are currently in operation and supply the electricity network.
