Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has confirmed that Minister Jean Asselborn will pay a working visit to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria from Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 August 2022.

The head of Luxembourg's diplomacy will meet his counterpart, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, and will be received in audience by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

As part of the effort to make European diplomacy aware of the security and humanitarian situation in Europe resulting from Russian aggression against Ukraine, Minister Asselborn will take the opportunity of his visit to present to Algeria the efforts of the European Union to counteract the negative effects of war on food security.

The working visit will also be an opportunity to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries with the signing of a bilateral air services agreement.
