On Wednesday 25 September 2019, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel met with Luxembourgish citizens living in New York during a reception at the Luxembourg House.

The meeting took part during the Luxembourg Prime Minister's visit to New York as part of the United Nations General Assembly.

During his opening speech at the Luxembourg House reception, Xavier Bettel noted: "Our citizens living abroad are the best ambassadors of our country in the world. It is this exchange between individuals, between peoples, all coming from different horizons, that creates the wealth of our societies".

The reception also previewed the "Shapes of then and beyond" exhibition by Luxembourgish artists Ben Carter and Philippe Lamesch.

Luxembourg House is home to the Permanent Mission of Luxembourg to the United Nations, the Consulate General of Luxembourg in New York, the Luxembourg Trade & Investment Office, the Luxembourg Tourist Office and the activities of the Luxembourg-American Chamber of Commerce.
