The Consulate General of Luxembourg in New York has announced two upcoming performing arts events in the Big Apple featuring actors and artists from the Grand Duchy.

The first performances will see Luxembourg actor Georges Krombach play the lead role of Harpagon in Molière's revisited play “L’Avare” (“The Miser”) on Wednesday 29 and Friday 31 May and on Saturday 1 June 2019. This performance, put on by the students of l'Atelier Théâtre NY and directed by Laura Lassy Townsend, will present New York audiences with a mix of family drama, painful intrigues and Hollywoodian passions in a Dallas style. The play, in French with English surtitles, will last one and a half hours (no intermission). It will take place on 29 May and 31 May at 20:00 and on 1 June at 15:00, at the Theatre for a New City (155 First Avenue– between 9th & 10thStreets- New York, NY 10003) Tickets cost $22 or $15 for students and can be purchased online at https://sorteer.com/event/lavare-de-moliere.

Next on the agenda will be a Jazz/Funk evening with North Sea Jazz Artist Martin Reuter from 18:00 to 19:00 on Friday 31 May 2019, at Club Bonafide (212 East 52nd Street- between Second & Third Aves – 3rd Floor – New York, NY 10022). Martin Reuter, a bassist who recently featured on Luxembourg National Television (RTL), will be joined on this occasion by Riho Shimasue on drums, Pablo Javier Alfaro on the guitar and Kyosuke Isono on percussion. Tickets cost $15 on Eventbrite: https://bit.ly/2LzeV5s.

In addition, Adrienne Haan will be putting on her Cabaret show "Berlin, Mon Amour", with newcomer French Cabaret artist and Luxembourg-born Magali Dahan, at The Triad Theater on Wednesday 29 May and Wednesday 2 June 2019.
