On Thursday and Friday this week, Luxembourg's Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener, is in Nice and the nearby Sophia Antipolis (inland from Antibes) on an exploratory trade mission organised by the Chamber of Commerce, in close cooperation with the Luxembourg Embassy in France and the development agency, Team Côte d'Azur.
Accompanied by nearly 20 companies and institutional actors in Luxembourg, the delegation received a special welcome in Nice at the Salon Innovative City, considered a major event in Europe for the exchange of views in the area of innovative cities and territories, that are connected and sustainable.
During her speech at the event, Secretary of State Closener said that Luxembourg was the ideal laboratory to test different innovative ideas to full size in the field of smart cities and territories: "The Grand Duchy gathers together under "one roof" the multitude of trades and skills needed to meet the complex challenges of today and the future. You can rely on the Luxembourg as an open and reliable partner in the realisation of your innovative projects."
On Friday, the delegation will leave for Sophia Antipolis to visit a science and technology centre of buildings. The programme for the day also includes visiting the Eco-valley, with a visit to the R&D Horizon site of Schneider Electric.
