The Luxembourg Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, has announced he will be visiting the Ukrainian Minister for Foreign Affairs in Kiev, Pavlo Klimkin, on 25 and 26 June 2015.
The working visit will include meetings with the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko; Deputy Finance Minister Olena Makeieva; and Vice-President of the Ukraine Parliament, Oksana Syroid, as well as Head of Delegation of the EU in Ukraine, Jan Tombinski and Head of the Mission of the EU Council for the Reform of the Civil Security Sector in Ukraine, Kálmán Mizsei.
Amongst the topics to be discussed between Minister Asselborn and the Ukrainian authorities will be the political situation in the Ukraine and the potential for conflict resolution in the country's eastern Donbass region, which is currently held by insurgents of the separatist groups, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR).
Talks will also focus on EU-Ukraine relations, including the implementation of the Association Agreement between the two, as well as a discussion of bilateral relations between the Grand Duchy and the Ukraine.
