The Grand Théâtre is hosting performances of Rambert's dance show Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby on Wednesday 6, Thursday 7 and Friday 8 November at 20:00 and on Saturday 9 November 2024 at 15:00 and 20:00.

This stage adaptation by British dance company Rambert captures the Peaky Blinders story, with "stunning" performances from dancers and an "iconic" soundtrack.

Opening in the trenches of Flanders, a personal story unfolds in post-war industrial Birmingham as the Shelby family navigate the decisions that determine their fate and Tommy is intoxicated by mysterious newcomer, Grace. While Tommy is building his empire, Grace is operating as an undercover agent for the Special Branch on a mission to get close to the heart of Tommy's gang. As the story unfolds, hearts are broken and revenge is sought.

The dramatisation and dance are accompanied by a live on-stage band performing specially commissioned music by Roman GianArthur and iconic Peaky Blinders tracks from Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Radiohead, Anna Calvi, The Last Shadow Puppets, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Features eighteen dancers and three musicians.

Throughout Rambert's UK theatre tour, long-term fans of the TV show and audiences coming to Peaky Blinders fresh, were united in their enthusiasm for this adaptation written by the series' creator Steven Knight with direction and choreography by Rambert's Artistic Director Benoit Swan Pouffer.

The show is recommended for viewers aged fifteen and up. It lasts one hour and 50 minutes (plus intermission).
