Details:

To mark Europe Day 2019, the government, in collaboration with the Schengen Commune and Schengen a.s.b.l, is organising a public aperitif concert from 11:00 to 14:00 in Schengen in front of the European Museum.

This year, Europe Day will be a public holiday in Luxembourg for the first time. Established in 1985 by the European Council, Europe Day is celebrated on 9 May in the Member States of the European Union to commemorate the Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950, considered as the founding text of the European construction.

However, Luxembourg is to date the only Member State which has established this day as a public holiday. To mark this occasion, all citizens are invited to a concert from a jazz ensemble composed of Maxime Bender, Greg Lamy, Laurent Payfert and Jeff Herr in Schengen.

Children's entertainment is also planned and Schengen a.s.b.l. will offer guided tours of the European Museum on this occasion. The aperitif will be offered by the government and Food Trucks will be on site.

Shuttle buses will run from the Remerschen car park.
