This year's Buergbrennen, or Bonfire Day, will take place on 10 March 2019 across Luxembourg.

This is an annual tradition where a wooden cross is set on fire to figuratively burn the spirits of winter and welcome spring. People get together and enjoy gluhwein and grilled sausages and watch the bonfire.

Dates and start times vary from village to village, but the event is usually held on a Sunday or Saturday one week-end after Carnival.
