Details:

The global running movement, Run in the Dark, will return to Luxembourg this November with a virtual event.

Around 25,000 runners and walkers across the globe will light up the night together on Wednesday 18 November 2020. Participants will choose their individual run route and track their run with a mobile application to place on a global leaderboard.

Last year, over 1,000 runners gathered in Luxembourg-Clausen to take part in Run in the Dark and raised €50,000 for the Mark Pollock Trust which supports Mark Pollock to pursue his personal mission to cure paralysis in our lifetime. This year, running separately while connecting digitally across seven continents, this global movement will light up the night as people hit the road to Run in the Dark for the Mark Pollock Trust and to donate or fundraise for Collaborative Cures, whose mission is to bring people together to cure paralysis in our lifetime.

Paula Cunniffe, CEO of Run in the Dark, commented: "Millions of paralysed people worldwide don't have the option to stand up, to walk or to run. You can help change that reality as you train and compete virtually with 25,000 people worldwide at Run in the Dark on 18 November. All your additional donations and fundraising will support our new charity partner Collaborative Cures to bring people together to cure paralysis in our lifetime".

Stephen Dawson, Irish Ambassador to Luxembourg, said: "I am delighted to support this wonderful fundraising event for the Irish non-profit, the Mark Pollock Trust and its charity partner Collaborative Cures. Thanks to the dynamic Irish community here, the Luxembourg run has grown to be one of the largest Run in the Dark events outside of Ireland and I hope that this year's virtual Run in the Dark will see the same level of success as previous years".

Jane Murray, Run in the Dark Luxembourg City Champion, added: "Run in the Dark is one of the highlights of the running calendar in Luxembourg so it was important that even though we can't run side by side this year, we can still light up the night in support of the Mark Pollock Trust and their charity partner Collaborative Cures".

DMS Governance is supporting the virtual Run in the Dark.
