Details:
Alice, a dance show inspired by the work of Lewis Carroll, will be taking over the stage of Neimënster on 6 May 2018 at 16:00.
Scheduled to close the first edition of the neimënster youth programme “minimënster”, Dutch dance company De Stilte’s “Alice” is a free reinterpretation of Lewis Caroll's classic Alice in Wonderland, featuring choreography by Jack Timmermans.
Accompanied by music composed for the occasion by Timothy van der Holst, one male dancer and three female dancers embark on crazy, humorous chases, dance solos or rhythmic duets and trios, in an ingenious modular setting recreating the moving world of dreams. A simple but ingenious decor: accessories, swinging doors and a revolving door allow spontaneous appearances and disappearances. The whole plateau works like a magic lantern.
The dance adaptation of the classic focuses on transformation with the characters undergoing permanent metamorphosis. In Alice, the protagonist is no longer alone in her exploration. She can count on the presence of two other Alices at her side, offering their support and each in turn assuming the lead role.
The performance lasts 60 minutes and is suitable for those aged 6 and above. There is no dialogue.
