Details: D'Coque announces the welcoming of the fatsO group to perform on Thursday 1 June 2017.
The Blues of Bogotá on the advance in our times? Sounds crazy - and it is, too. Daniel Restrepo, with his combo fatsO, makes for the elimination of Latin clichés and such. Already celebrated in their homeland, the Southern States - between al the salsa, electronica sounds, the septet makes its exciting way into Europe.
Daniel Restrepo made six co-stars, each with very different musical backgrounds: for example the clarinetist and saxophone-player Daniel Linero already played in the cult-band La Mojara Elétrica, while his co-bandmember Cesar Caicedo had a classical background, and won numerous awards in that area. The band also includes saxophone players Pablo Beltrán and Elkin Hernándezm (Afro-Pacific tradition backrounds), guitarist Santiago Jiménez (classical background), drummer Cesar Morales and Seis Peatones (both with mixed backgrounds).
Their debut album immediately struck the Colombian countrymen, when Restrepo and his men presented it at the Bogota Jazz In The Park Festival in 2013.
