Details: Pirates' Lost in the Stars
Pirates Productions in Luxembourg will be putting on a new production "Lost in the Stars" involving 5 performances from Thursday 4 May to Sunday 7 May (2 performances on Saturday). Kurt Weill was a German composer who wrote mainly theatre music, starting in Weimar Germany and moving to the USA, where he wrote for Broadway and film. Many of his songs are now classics, such as Mack the Knife and September Song. His life, which included some momentous events as a Jew forced to flee Germany, and a turbulent marriage (twice) with the actress and singer Lotte Lenya is reflected in his music. ‘Lost in the Stars’ will be a small show to tell the story of Weill and Lenya, through cabaret-style performances of the songs (dancing included), and with narration, drama and projection of photos and film. The songs will be solos mixed with duets and chorus numbers. The cast involves circa 10 singers/actors/dancers.
