Details:  The Abbaye de Neumunster is organising the conference ‘Beyond the body’ on the theme of the impact of technology on the human body for Wednesday 19 October 2016 from 18:30 in Salle José Ensch at the Abbaye de Neumunster.

‘Beyond the body’ focuses on the very current subject of technological tools such as smartphones and tablets and their influence on our relationship with our bodies. During the participative debate, specialists of this subject will provide their explanations for why this is a topic which becomes increasingly relevant each year.

The main idea behind this debate comes from dancer and choreographer Anne-Mareike Hess’ project ‘Synchronisation in process’ in which three dancers indulge in the “collective being in a single and unique moment”.

Steve Clement, a specialist in information security and entrepreneur, will lead the debate. Other participants include a panel of experts coming from a wide range of disciplines, from philosophy to engineering, and will offer and discuss new perspectives on the subject.

The debate, which will be broadcast live online, will be in English with translation into French.
