Details: Sunday 2 December sees a John Cage Extravaganza with New World Theatre Club (NWTC) participation.

John Cage was an American composer, philosopher and poet. A leader of chance music, electronic music and the non-standard use of musical instruments, Cage has been lauded as “one of the most influential composers of the 20th century.”

As part of the Rainy Days festival at the Luxembourg Philharmonie, a free open-door celebration of John Cage, performed by an array of local artists, will be presented this Sunday from 15:00-22:00. The NWTC will present “Lecture on the Weather” with twelve North American voices, directed by Chris Wilson, at 19:45 in the Salle de Musique de Chambre of the Philharmonie.

Heavily influenced by Henry David Thoreau, “Lecture on the Weather” is a multi-media soundscape, with natural sounds blending with the spoken voice to create something truly unique.
