Details: Rock Box in the Rives de Clausen, together with STAN Promotions, are organising an evening of live gothic rock music on Sunday 1 May 2016 at Rock Box.
Playing for the first time in Luxembourg are guitar gothic rock band Burning Gates from Turin (Italy) and young London band, Terminal Gates (UK). Opening the show are semi-acoustic gothic guitar duo, From the Fire (Italy). Special guest DJ will be Simon Gibbons (formerly of Ara City Radio)
Burning Gates: Formed in Turin, Italy in the mid-1990s, Burning Gates were originally active from 1995 to 2001, during which time they released three albums (Risvegli, Aurora Borealis and Wounds) and contributed to several compilation discs. The band toured extensively in Europe, performing at many of the iconic festivals of the alternative scene, among which were the Wave-Gothic Treffen festival in Germany, Judgment Day festival in Austria and Carnival of Souls festival in the UK. Burning Gates officially disbanded in 2002, with the members going on to perform in various other groups within the alternative / goth scene in Italy and in the UK. In 2015, original members of the band decided to reform to celebrate their 20th anniversary by playing a limited number of concerts, which will carry on through 2016. To coincide with the current tour, a retrospective best-of compilation album, “Shadows of the past” has been released on Strobelight Records.Burning Gates come to Luxembourg after shows in Spain, Italy, Denmark and Germany. This may very well be the last chance to catch them live and experience their “powerful gothic rock, rich with influences from post-punk and 80’s alternative music”.
Terminal Gods: A young band formed in London in 2011, Terminal Gods are currently taking the European Goth / Alternative scene by storm with their “leather clad posturing, relentless machine beats, and a hurricane of dry ice”. The band have built up a sizable following thanks to their hard working approach with relentless gigging in the UK and Europe. Classic Rock summed up their sound and image perfectly: “Imagine a world in which Andrew Eldritch (lead singer of the Sisters of Mercy) kept his hair and his leather jacket, and instead of doing crossword puzzles for the last decade, he spent his time cracking skulls in biker bars. Shazam! Terminal Gods”. Terminal Gods play for the first time in Luxembourg on the eve of the release of their debut album, WAVE / FORM which will be available on 6th May 2016 in both digital and non-digital formats (including vinyl). Advance copies of the CD may well be available to purchase at the concert in Luxembourg.
From the Fire: Opening the evening at the Rock Box will be From the Fire, a semi-acoustic guitar goth duo from Italy formed by Michele Piccolo, lead singer of Burning Gates accompanied by Fabrizio Busso who will be joining Michele in Luxembourg.
