Details: Luxembourg Talks - Grand Duchy to Host Toastmasters District 59 Spring Conference

From 20-22 May, 2016 Luxembourg will host the Toastmasters District 59 Spring Conference at the Hotel Parc Alvisse in Luxembourg-Dommeldange, and is expected to attract approximately 300 Toastmasters from eight countries.

It has often been said that “people fear public speaking more than death.” Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators and leaders. Presently membership exceeds 332,000 in 135 countries.

The 3-day programme has something for everyone who is interested in public speaking. Firstly, speech contests in three different languages. - speakers deliver five- to seven-minute presentations on inspirational and motivational topics and have already proved themselves at club, area and division level. The winner of the English contest will go on to compete in the annual World Championship of Public Speaking in Washington D.C. later this year.

Secondly, there's the Evaluation speech contest. Contestants observe a test speech and then present a short evaluation. Thirdly, twelve mini-workshops on a range of topics all tailored to help improve communication and leadership skills. And as if that wasn't enough, Mohammed Qahtani, the 2015 World Champion of Public Speaking, will deliver the keynote speech and a workshop.

At Saturday's gala dinner after the prize-giving, it will be time for one's feet to do the talking – on the dance floor.
