Details: The ACL Classic Tour 2016 took place for the first time in 2003; the 16th edition will take place on 5 May over a course of 260km, with proceeds going towards the Télévie charity fundraising effort; the route this year will take in Luxembourg, France, Germany and Belgium with an touristic emphasis.
Jean-Claude Juchem, Director of the ACL, and Lucien Franck, President of Véhicules Historiques in Luxembourg, presented details of the event at a press conference held at the premises of the ACL on Tuesday morning.
The event will start on 5 May at 08:00 from Mondorf-les-Bains, with the first car leaving at 09:30, and the route will include 8 control points as well as a circuit of the Goodyear track in Colmar-Berg, with the finish scheduled for Echternach (16:30 - 19:00, leaving Colmar-Berg at 12:30), beside the abbey. The morning's route will be 118km and the afternoon's will be 142km.
2-, 3- and 4-wheel vehicles may participate, with the stipulation that the first registration must have been before 31 December 1991 (Youngtimers are allowed for vehicles
registered between 1 January 1992 and 31 December 1996.
The oldest vehicle is expected to be a Bugatti 35 from 1924.
