Details: The first edition of the “Blockchain Bootcamp” will take place on 15-16 April, 2016 in Luxembourg, organised by the Luxembourg School of Business and hosted by Arendt & Medernach.

This 2-day event will consist of two parts. The first day will open with a morning conference during which a panel of experts will discuss topics relating to Blockchain technology and its current and potential applications across a variety of industries. Following the conference, participants will engage in a day-and-a-half-long workshop, during which they will work in much more details on creating possible prototypes and/or innovative business models related to Blockchain technology. Participants will be encouraged to think of ways how this technology could help transform their own companies/businesses.

Blockchain is a new and fast evolving technology that is creating fundamental changes in personal finance, business, financial markets and banking worldwide. Its most popular product is the virtual currency “Bitcoin”.

While Bitcoin has gained most of the media attention, Blockchain has already found its applications in many industries - specifically finance, law and supply-chain. Giants like Microsoft, IBM and large financial institutions are investing considerable resources into Blockchain, betting that its applications are going to transform the way many industries operate.

Investments into Blockchain-related startups have increased exponentially in the last 18 months. Marc Andreessen, co-founder of Andreessen Horowitz and a Silicon Valley legend, stated "BlockChain's distributed consensus model is the most important inventions since the internet itself”.

Luxembourg School of Business regularly provides Executive Education programmes as well as MBA programmes in marketing, finance and other business-related areas. This event presents a unique opportunity to not only learn more about the technology, but actively work in groups on devising innovative ways on how Blockchain technology might change different business models and products/services.
