Details: This year's edition of 'Rencontres sans Frontières' ('Meetings without Borders') will  be held on Sunday 12 June 2016 at the Stade Boy Konen in Cessange.

This event, organised in collaboration with the Comité des liaisons des associations d'étrangers (CLAE), aims to encourage cultural exchange through sport and reflect the multiple nationalities that co-exist in Luxembourg's capital and beyond. On 31 December 2015, 69.85% of the population of Luxembourg City were of a foreign nationality, of which there are around 160 different ones in the capital.

Two different tournaments will be offered during the day: a football tournament open to men and women and played in teams of six, as well as a goalkeeper and a reserve; and a beach volleyball competition open to anyone from the age of 13 and above and composed of teams representing at least two different countries, with at least two of the five players female. The football matches will last 15-30 minutes, with the exact time to be confirmed when registrations close. To mix different cultures, each team will have a maximum limit of four players of the same nationality.

Both children and adults will be encouraged to participate in the day, with sports workshops and demonstrations, as well as music and dances from the communities present and entertainment for little ones. Food stands will also be set up offering culinary specialties from various countries.
