On Monday 25 January 2016, the University of Luxembourg will be holding a presentation on 'Pain and Suffering: Recent Advances in Research and Therapy', featuring a Professor from the University of Ghent, Belgium.
Geert Crombez, Professor of Health psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Ghent University, will be talking about somatic complaints which remain 'medically unexplained', such as fatigue and pain. In his presentation, Professor Crombez will review historical and current psychological science as it attempts to both explain and influence people's sence of suffering associated with unexplained pain.
He will also highlight pain and suffering in its multilayered form and explain how such an analysis of the disruptive nature of pain has led to recent advancements in the psychological treatment of chronic pain..
