Details: The annual Stréimännchen / Stréifrächen tradition is held at the end of Carnival on Ash Wednesday, Wednesday 10 February 2016.
Young people parade a large straw "guy" ("Stréimännchen") through the streets of the town. On the Moselle bridge they set it alight and throw it into the river. It signifies the end of the merry Moselle Carnival.
