French astronaut Claudie Haigneré and Swedish futurologist Nicklas Bergman will be in attendance at Luxembourg's Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Conference 2015, it was today announced.

The MSCA has been organised by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) and will be held on 10 and 11 December 2015 under the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union. A range of guests are expected to be present, including the Secretary of State, Marc Hansen; MEP Claude Turmes; and Luxembourger Martine Reicherts, Director General of DG Education and Culture of the European Commission.

Keynote speakers Claudie Haigneré and Nicklas Bergmann will be joining a host of experts and representatives of national organisations supporting future generations of scientists at the conference, under the theme of 'Synergies to Fuel Researchers 'Careers''. The high-level conference will revolve around the theme of synergies and impacts of cofinancing European research programmes, addressing specific topics such as career prospects and employability of researchers, equal opportunity and gender and recruitment strategies.

A total of 200 individuals from more than thirty countries are expected to participate in the various sessions, with the programme incorporating presentations, panel discussions and workshops, as well as a ceremony specifically devoted to three outstanding Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND Fellows.
