Details: Belgian Ambassador to Address TIGFI on 5 Pillars of Integrity
The Institute for Global Financial Integrity (TIGFI) is organising its 45th Finance Lunch event on Wednesday 20 January 2016 from 11:30 at the Cercle Munster in Luxembourg-Grund.
Thomas Antoine, Ambassador of Belgium to Luxembourg, will speak on the five pillars of integrity.
Before taking up his post as Belgian Ambassador in Luxembourg in 2013, Thomas Antoine served as Ambassador to Tunisia from 2008 to 2011, and to Argentina from 2011 to 2013. He was Director of Bilateral Relations for South-Eastern Europe from 2005-2008. He has also served as Consul General in Istanbul (2002-2005), with the World Trade Organisation and with the United Nationals in Geneva (1997-2002), in Washington (1994-97), in the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (1991-92), in Lisbon (1989-91) and in Teheran (1986-1989).
In 1984 he passed the competitive entry exam to the Belgian diplomatic service and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brussels. Mr. Antoine attended the Catholic University of Louvain, where in 1980 he was awarded a degree in Philosophy and Literature with a diploma in Thomist philosophy. Before joining the Belgian Diplomatic Service in 1984, he was a professor of religion and philosophy in Belgium’s advanced secondary school programme.
Mr. Antoine was born in Louvain, Belgium, in 1955 and is married to Pascale de Grasse des princes d’Antibes: they have 7 children. The Ambassador, whose mother tongue is French, speaks Dutch, English and Spanish fluently, and has working knowledge of Farsi (Persian), Portuguese and Turkish.
