Details: After the success of Greyhounds and Flowers in the Desert, Actors Repertory Theatre Luxembourg is putting on “Do You Want to Know a Secret?” by award-winning playwright Daniel Pinkerton.

“Do You Want to Know a Secret?” takes place in East Berlin between 1988 and 1993. It tells the story of the members of the Berger family who are caught in the politics, fear and paranoia of a society in which everyone just may be spying on everyone else. Who can be trusted in an environment of seemingly universal betrayal?

Politics, family, love, betrayal, fear and paranoia collide in this important drama inspired by real-life events. A quarter of a century after the Wall came down, this taut and moving drama about one family’s struggles with betrayal resonates profoundly with our own era of Edward Snowden and identity theft.

The play won Pinkerton the prestigious Jerome Fellowship in 2001.

Actors Rep’s production of Do You Want to Know a Secret? presents a remarkable opportunity for audience members to experience a time that built contemporary Europe and the modern world. Through the story of one family, and whether the era of the Fall of the Wall is a memory or something they’ve only read about, audiences can experience a powerful drama rooted in a time that still resonates deeply across our own.
The cast is highlighted by London based Luxembourgish actress Sarah Lamesch as well as Luxembourg based actors Timothy Lone, Rhona Richards, Christine Probst and Gilbert K. Johnston.
