Details: March Benefit Performances of The Vagina Monologues
Three benefit performances of Eve Ensler's critically acclaimed play The Vagina Monologues will be held in Luxembourg this March by the Luxembourg Gender Voice Initiative (LGVI) with the support of the University of Luxembourg.
The play is part of a global campaign called V-DAY, which focuses on bringing attention to and ending violence against women. The performances of the play are organised around International Women’s Day, and all proceeds will go to Femmes en Détresse, a.s.b.l.
The show is directed by Directed by Karolina Zych and Ruth Gillen and is being performed on Friday 6 March at 19:00, with two more performances on 14 March and 21 March, also at 19:00, at the Sang a Klang (7 rue Trois Glands, L-1629 Luxembourg-Pfaffenthal).
The Vagina Monologues is a poignant, episodic play sharing joyous and tragic stories of womanhood, based on over 200 interviews with women conducted by Eve Ensler. These monologues, performed in various languages, give a voice to stories of violence, shame, hope, and self-discovery, inspiring women and men worldwide to fight for the empowerment of women and girls.
