Details: 11 November: Researching “Swept up lives”: geographies of homelessness, hopelessness and hope

On Tuesday, 11 November at 16:00, one of the world¨s leading human geographers, Professor Paul Cloke of the University of Exeter (UK), will give a public talk on the geographies of homelessness, hopelessness and hope.

His talk uses research evidence from the UK to argue that narratives of urban revanchism – with their focus on dis-ease and exclusion – are insufficient to capture contemporary geographies of homelessness. In addition, we need to attend to spaces of care, listening to the voices of homeless people themselves, and to the voices of the staff and volunteers who work so hard to improve the lives of these homeless people.

The lecture is organised by the Institute for Health and Behaviour of the University of Luxembourg and will take place at Campus Walferdange, Building II, Room Vygotsky.
