Details: On Friday 16 May 2014, the American graphic novelist Chris Ware will be performing a Ciné-Concert at the CAPe cultural centre in Ettelbruck, from 20:00, with Ensemble Spectra.
LINT is the most recent comic strip (graphic novel) by Chris Ware, the American comic strip genius who has been active in this domain for the past twenty years. Titles by the cartoonist / author include "Jimmy Corrigan, the smartest kid on earth"; now LINT is the 20th title published in the ACME Novelty Library series.
The album traces the life of a man named Jordan Wellington Lint (1959-2023), a man who excels in bad choices and missed opportunities. Upon reading this comic, composer Walter Hus, born in 1959, discovered a special media narrative, hitherto unknown to him, the use by the designer of specific colours to specific passages to create a real musical structure over the images. The music of Walter Hus accompanies and explains the cartoon projected onto a giant screen. The voice and music played live suggest to the reader / listener various expectations and memories as the story develops.
Featuring Chris Ware (comic strip illustrations) & Walter Hus (music), with Angélique Willkie (voice) and Sébastien Hendrickx (dramaturgy).
