Details: The 8th edition of the stand-up comedy festival (Humour pour la Paix) is taking place from 13 - 23 March at the Abbaye de Neumunster in Luxembourg-Grund.
From Aristophanes to Roberto Benigni, through William Shakespeare, Molière and Sacha Guitry, humour has manifested itself in artistic works from all eras. It is undoubtedly one of the artistic heritage of humanity. But nowadays, humour is too often confined to the ghetto of comic business, which often does not contribute to tolerate and accept differences. Or to accept the laughter of the other is already accepting differences. Building on the momentum of "Luxembourg 2007", the Centre Culturel de Rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster has created a unique cultural and artistic event in Luxembourg, the festival "Humour pour la Paix" which is in its 8th edition this year.
The 8th edition of this annual event is a must for all lovers of laughter Faithful to its original philosophy, it will host major international comedians (Germany, France, UK, Belgium) and specialists in Luxembourg humour in order to laugh to think. This festival is dedicated to Walid Hassan, Iraqi comedian who was assassinated in 2006.

This year, the Festival welcomes Shappi Khorsandi, star of Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, and Have I Got News for You. She's back with a brand new show for 2014. She's feisty, flirty and effortlessly funny she handles every subject with a razor sharp wit, softened only by her deliciously dizzy delivery and endless charm. Shappi, the daughter of an exiled writer and comic from Iran, her upbringing has been in no way conventional. From mental illness to opium dens, it's all gone on in the Khorsandi household and now she recounts it all the only way she knows how, with wit, warmth and hilarity.
