Details: The University of Luxembourg is organising a public conference on Tuesday 2 October at 19:00 on its Limpertsberg Campus (162a avenue de la Faïencerie, L1511 Luxembourg) in Auditorium 201 in the Science Building.
Entitled “Democracy, Reform and European Governance”, Restoring faith in policies, decisions and institutions, the conference forms part of a series of activities on European Governance by the Faculty of Languages and Literature, Humanities, Art and Education (FLSHASE).
Under the effects of the economic crisis since 2008, and at a time of increasing competition from other global economies, the governance of the European Union (EU), and the member states it is comprised of, is being called into question by a large number of Europeans. How is the EU to reassure its members of the legitimacy and efficiency of its policies, decision-making processes and institutions?
The conference will be opened by Rolf Tarrach, President of the University of Luxembourg and speakers will include Mr Laurent Mosar, Chairman of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies and Mr Panagiotis Grigoriou, Jean Monnet Chair of the University of the Aegean who will seek to answer this question.
Please note that the conference will take place in French.
