The 25th edition of the Duck Race is set to take place on Saturday 18 April 2026 at Neumünster Abbey (neimënster) in Luxembourg-Grund.
Organised by Round Table Luxembourg under the patronage of the City of Luxembourg (VdL), the Duck Race will take again place as a "Green Event" and an "AntiGaspi" (anti-waste) event.
The race will start at the Grund bridge on Rue Munster, with the finish line a few hundred metres downstream, at the footbridge crossing the river at the western end of the Rives de Clausen.
An entertainment programme for children and adults, as well as catering, will begin at 12:00 (noon) and end at around 18:00. At 15:00, around 20,000 plastic ducks will be released into the Alzette river for the race itself.
The activities will take place on the forecourt of Neimënster, featuring activities for children, a DJ, food stalls offering grilled dishes, fries (chips), vegetarian options and desserts, as well as drinks.
All proceeds from the Duck Race will be donated to charitable organisations, which will also be present on-site to provide information about their work and missions: Fondation Jugend- an Drogenhëllef, Study-Help, Asha 4 Children, 2care2share, HAND an HAND fir AFRIKA, Fondation EPI and Amicale en faveur de l'inclusion.
Anyone wishing to participate in the Duck Race may sponsor one or more ducks, available for the price of €5 at https://www.duckrace.lu/. Each duck has a number that corresponds to a lottery ticket number. The sponsors of the ducks that cross the finish line first will receive prizes offered by sponsors.
