Details:
On Sunday 11 January 2026 at 20:00, the Machera cultural centre in Grevenmacher will host the internationally touring production The James Brown Experience.
The James Brown Experience is currently touring Europe, offering an immersive tribute to the original soul legend. Marking 20 years since the passing of American singer-songwriter and dancer James Brown, the production delves into the songbook of one of the 20th century's most influential artists.
The show features the New Soul Generals, a nine-piece funk orchestra whose musicians have previously toured with artists such as Jamiroquai, Mark Ronson, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, John Legend and Martha Reeves. Audiences can expect many of the artist's best-known hits, including "I Got You (I Feel Good)", "It's a Man's Man's Man's World", "Get Up Offa That Thing", "Sex Machine" and "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag".
The production promises to take audiences on a journey through the life and music of the "King of Funk" in his own words in what is described as the most authentic tribute production to date. It is endorsed by The James Brown Family Foundation, which stated: "This production not only honours James Brown's extraordinary musical legacy, but it also reflects his creativity, hard work and passion. We are thrilled to see this show bring his legacy and sound to new audiences."
Raised across South Carolina and Georgia (James Brown's birthplace), Guy Kelton Jones performs the leading role. Appearing as James Brown's long-time collaborator Bobby Byrd is Miles Christian, who was born into a musical dynasty that helped pioneer UK soul music as The Christians.
Underpinning the all-star cast and band is a production level that "takes the concert experience to new heights", featuring a light show, an immersive audience experience and "the best funk and soul tracks of all time."
