Details:
The British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg (BCC), in collaboration with the Luxembourg Gender Finance Task Force (GFTF), is organising an event dedicated to "Powering Careers: The Transformative Role of Sponsorship" on Thursday 4 December 2025 at 17:45 at PwC Luxembourg in Cloche d'Or / Gasperich.
Hosted by the BCC Financial Services Group, this event is part of the Women in Finance series and is open to all genders, ages and professional backgrounds, exploring how sponsorship can empower and advance careers.
According to the organisers, in today's competitive landscape, sponsorship can be a game-changer for professional advancement - particularly for women in finance and leadership. Unlike mentorship, sponsorship involves influential advocates actively opening doors, amplifying voices and creating real opportunities for career growth.
This event introduces a dynamic new format designed to maximise interaction and networking:
- Live Audience Questions via Slido;
- Mentor & Mentee Opportunities.
Co-keynote speech from the GFTF:
- Cherryl Dentzer, Sustainable Finance Advisor at Luxembourg's Ministry of Finance;
- Anisa Kyriakou, Conducting Officer at Franklin Templeton.
Speakers:
- Birgit Goldak, Partner, PwC Luxembourg, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Leader;
- Cathrine Foldberg Møller, Partner - Financial Services Regulatory, Simmons & Simmons Luxembourg;
- Sergio Keshishian, Senior Director and Head of Client Management, London & Luxembourg, RBS International;
- Elena Menidiatis, Senior Associate - Banking, Simmons & Simmons Luxembourg;
- Elodie Gianferrara - Financial Regulation Expert, Alethes Governance
Moderated by Sophia Withers, docify and BCC Financial Services Group.
Attendees can expect to:
- gain a deeper understanding of the power of sponsorship versus mentorship;
- hear first-hand experiences from successful sponsors and sponsees;
- learn practical strategies for becoming or finding a sponsor;
- expand one's professional network in an inspiring and supportive environment;
- an opportunity to indicate whether one would like to be a mentor and / or mentee and connect with others after the event.
The panel discussion will actively invite the audience to pose the questions on their minds too, exploring how sponsorship can transform careers, how to build effective sponsor–sponsee relationships and how organisations can foster cultures that enable this kind of impactful support. The panellists will share real experiences from both sides of the sponsorship dynamic - those who have championed others and those who have been championed.
This is a members only event.
