This event is described as an opportunity for the public to discover the treasures of the Mëllerdall (Mullerthal) UNESCO Global Geopark region through a series of activities for all ages and tastes.
The programme includes a film night followed by a discussion at Ciné Sura in Echternach, a family rally "promising fun and adventure for young and old", a guided tour of the Textil Musée (Textile Museum) in Larochette and guided hikes "through picturesque landscapes to discover the region's natural riches".
Along with the Mëllerdall Days, the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall is taking part in the European Geoparks Week, "a celebration across Europe of the remarkable geological, natural and cultural heritage of geoparks".
Film Night at Ciné Sura: As part of the Mëllerdall Days, a film night will take place at Ciné Sura in Echternach on Thursday 5 June 2025 at 20:15. In collaboration with Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg and the Rethink Your Clothes campaign, the film Made in Bangladesh will be screened in its original version with French subtitles. This feature-length film tells the story of Shimu, a 23-year-old textile worker in Bangladesh, who faces abusive working conditions. She decides to fight back by forming a union. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Fairtrade about fair production conditions. Admission is free of charge.
Nature Rally around the Geosite of the Year: A family rally will be held in Fischbach, around the Geosite of the Year "Al Schmelz", on Saturday 7 June 2025 from 09:30 to 13:00. The approximately 5 km trail is suitable for children aged six and over, as well as adults. The rally will be offered in Luxembourgish and German. Participation is free, with registration via the online form at www.naturpark-mellerdall.lu.
