The Grand Ducal Police have reported a number of arrests in relation to events which took place from Saturday 5 to Sunday 6 July 2025.

On Saturday 5 July 2025 at around 05:30, police received a report of an altercation between several individuals on Rue Schortgen in Dudelange. Upon arrival, officers found a woman with multiple injuries. She was taken to hospital for further treatment. Later that day, the alleged perpetrator returned to the scene and issued death threats towards a witness. He was arrested on the order of the public prosecutor and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Sunday 6 July 2025.

In the afternoon of Saturday 5 July 2025, a police patrol noticed a man on Rue Joseph Junck in Luxembourg-Gare who was suspected of being involved in drug deal. Officers proceeded to carry out a check and observed the man making repeated swallowing movements, raising suspicion that he may have ingested drug pellets. A body search revealed a small quantity of drugs and a digital scale. The man was taken for a scan to confirm whether he had swallowed drugs; the scan results were negative. Nevertheless, on the order of the public prosecutor’s office, he was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Sunday 6 July 2025.

On the morning of Sunday 6 July 2025, it was reported that an apparently intoxicated man who had just left a petrol station in Bascharage by car. A patrol later located the reported vehicle in Pétange. The driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption and tested positive during a breathalyser test. A provisional driving ban was issued. The man was uncooperative with officers and attempted to identify himself using a false name, which was formally recorded. Further checks revealed that he was already subject to a driving ban. The public prosecutor’s office was informed and ordered his arrest. He was brought before an investigating judge later that afternoon.

The same morning, several vehicles were reported to the police on Boulevard de la Fraternité in Luxembourg-Verlorenkost, each with a broken window. Investigations revealed that various items had been stolen from the vehicles. As part of the inquiry, a suspect was identified and apprehended. Stolen goods were found during a body search. On the order of the public prosecutor’s office, the individual was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Sunday 6 July 2025.

In the evening of Sunday 6 July 2025, a violation of a removal order was reported to the police at a residential address in Mertert. A patrol was dispatched and located the suspect at the scene. On the order of the public prosecutor’s office, he was arrested and was due to appear before an investigating judge on the morning of Monday 7 July 2025.
