Details:
This year’s Shakespeare Schools Festival Luxembourg will take place on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 February 2025, in the Abbaye de Neumunster, Luxembourg-Grund at 18:00 on both evenings.
Students from Luxembourg’s St George’s International School, Lycée Michel Lucius and the New World Theatre Youth Club, as well as schools from France, UK, Cyprus and Belgium will perform their versions of Shakespeare’s plays at the festival.
The programme is as follows:
Wednesday 5 February:
- St George’s International School, Luxembourg - “The Tempest”;
- Lycée Ombrosa, Lyon, France - “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”;
- Danes Hill School, Surrey, UK – “Macbeth”
- PASCAL Private Secondary School, Cyprus – “Othello”;
- St George’s International School, Luxembourg – “Romeo and Juliet”.
Thursday 6 February:
- Lycée Michel Lucius, Luxembourg – “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”;
- Antwerp International School Belgium - “The Tempest”;
- New World Theatre Youth Club, Luxembourg – “Hamlet”;
- St George’s International School, Luxembourg – “Much Ado About Nothing”.
Tom Leick Burns, Director of the Grand Theatre de la Ville de Luxembourg, will open the festival on Wednesday evening. Zeba Clarke, Principal of St George’s International School will deliver the closing remarks.
