Details:
Every year on Easter Monday, the traditional Éimaischen (or Eemaischen) markets see crowds flock to Luxembourg City and the south-western village of Nospelt to add to their Péckvillercher collections. Whilst these bird-shaped clay whistles are the main attraction, the market stands also offer various other ceramic designs and handicrafts, as well as food, drinks and musical entertainment.
In Luxembourg City, the craft market will be held on Monday 1 April 2024, from 08:00 to 17:00 in the historic streets of the old city, notably at Marché-aux-Poissons, in Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes, Rue de l'Eau, Rue de la Reine, Rue de la Boucherie, Rue du Rost and Rue Sigefroi. 83 stands will be present this year, including 46 Péckvillchen and pottery stands, 29 crafts and non-crafts stands and eight catering stands.
Various folk groups will perform (singing, dancing, music) at Marché-aux-Poissons, as well as in the square in front of the National Museum of History and Art, from 10:00 to 16:30.
Free facepainting for children is planned between 10:00 and 17:00 at the intersection of Rue du Rost and Rue de la Boucherie.
