Details:

In Luxembourg, Christmas Day (Chrëschtdag) on 25 December and Saint Stephen’s Day (Stiefesdag) on 26 December are public holidays.

Regardless of whether they celebrate the “main” event on Christmas Eve (24 December) or on Christmas Day, families typically come together to open their presents from the Chrëschtkëndchen (baby Jesus) and for a hearty festive meal. Practising Christians attend mass on Christmas Eve (Midnight Mass) and/or on Christmas Day. The festive season also features nativity plays (Krëppespiller) in various villages, Christmas concerts and carol singing, as well as Christmas markets.
