The Indian Association Luxembourg (IAL) is organising its annual Diwali Festival Gala on Saturday 18 November 2023 from 17:00 at the Centre Culturel Merl (26 Rue St Hubert).
Diwali is the "festival of lights", India's biggest and most important holiday of the year, lasting five days and including the worship of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi. It symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance". Diwali is one of the major religious festivals in Hinduism, and is observed in Jainism and Sikhism and, although not a primary festival of Buddhism, it is celebrated by some Buddhists.
