JIF Luxembourg is organising its annual feminist march on the occasion of International Women's Day on Wednesday 8 March 2023, departing Place Hamilius in Luxembourg-Ville at 17:00.

This event, initiated by the feminist platform JIF, is supported by the following local organisations: ASTI, Centre LGBTIQ+ CIGALE, CID | Fraen an Gender, Conseil National des Femmes du Luxembourg (CNFL; Luxembourg's national women's council), the Greens (political party) and the Young Greens, the Left (political party), Femmes en Détresse, Femmes socialistes (LSAP), OGBL Equality, Planning Familial, Sweet Joséphine, Centre for Ecological Learning Luxembourg - CELL and Rosa Lëtzebuerg.

As International Women's Day approaches, JIF has also presented its demands for 2023, namely: the fundamental rght to (affordable and decent) housing; a life without violence (e.g. support civil society actors in their work to raise awareness and prevent all forms of violence against women and girls); reducing further the gender pay gap in Luxembourg; more equality in families (e.g. through the creation of a three-month leave linked to the birth of a child, compensated by a full salary).

Anyone wishing to support gender equality and a more inclusive and just society is invited to join the upcoming International Women's Day march, bringing along drums or other musical instruments and wearing purple accessories to help raise awareness of JIF's feminist demands.
